Claude Dussel
Kachina by Pernell Laate
Claude Dussel was born in Paris, France. As a young man his oil paintings earned recognition as he dabbled in surrealism and then painted in the school of La Fantastique. Later he moved to the United States where he lived and worked in New York City, Key West, and New Orleans, where he painted portraits of jazz musicians as well as abstract oils. Claude passed away in November 2002 at the age of 68.

These oil paintings vary greatly in size and were all painted in the late 1970s and early 1980s in New York City.
